AC Milan forced to make three signings in January

Pinterest LinkedIn Viber

AC Milan are planning to sign three players in January. A centre-back, a full-back and a striker are on Maldini’s list to reinforce Pioli’s side.

The two priorities of AC Milan in January will be the attack and defense. According to Tuttosport, the management is focused on these areas for the upcoming winter transfer window. In attack the Rossoneri are dealing with the dip in form of Krzysztof Piatek and the immaturity of Rafael Leao, while in defence the entire department does not give guarantees.

A defender, a fullback and a striker are on Paolo Maldini’s list. The signing of a full-back was never on AC Milan’s plans but Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti have been hugely disappointing so far forcing the club to intervene on the market.

Ibrahimovic not convinced by Milan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the big opportunity of January. His contract expires in December and the giant Swede is about to become a free agent. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a name that the fans would love to see again at San Siro. The former Rossoneri striker is the prototype of the leader that AC Milan currently lack.

However, at the moment, Ibra doesn’t seem very tempted by the Rossoneri destination, but the scenario, assures the newspaper, could still change. If Zvonimir Boban and Paolo Maldini decide to contact Mino Raiola the 38-year-old could still changed his mind. An alternative for the attack, although not comparable for leadership and experience, could be Myron Boadu. The 18-year-old has taken Eredivise by storm this season scoring 7 goals and assisting 5 in 11 appearances for AZ Alkmaar.

Milan defence: Celik and Dumfries the alternatives

Regarding the defense, the Rossoneri are focused especially on Zeki Celik from Lille (valued at €20 million) and Denzel Dumfries of PSV. Celik is the number one choice of AC Milan and the transfer of Rafael Leao in the summer could favor a move for the Turkish right-back. Merih Demiral of Juventus is the top choice for the centre back role but only if Juventus open to a loan move.
