Nicolo Schira on Twitter is reporting that AC Milan are preparing a surprising renewal for midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu after his third season at the club. The Milan no. 10 has been a polarising figure due to his inconsistent performances over the past couple of years but is expected to get a renewal until 2024 – his current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2021.
#ACMilan are ready to open talks with Hakan #Çalhanoğlu to extend his contract (expires in 2021) until 2024. His agent (Gordon Stipic) will meet CEO Ivan Gazidis and the rossoneri’s management in July. #transfers

The Turkey international is on a wage of 2.5 million euros per season at the moment but it remains to be seen of Gazidis wage cap affects this renewal. The agent of the midfielder will reportedly meet Gazidis next month to discuss the renewal. Calhanoglu has 18 goals and 30 assists for the club in all competitions to this point.
