AC Milan’s Deborah Salvatori Rinaldi and her Post-Surgery Prognosis: ‘I Will Come Back Soon’

AC Milan Femminile forward, Deborah Salvatori Rinaldi, underwent surgery to remove a prosthetic from her leg on June 22nd.

The prosthetic was inserted in her leg following a fracture to her left fibula in 2018.

She will now spend the next 23 days resting and recuperating from her operation. Her recovery period is 30 days, and it began on June 23rd.

Salvatori Rinaldi also thanked the club for helping her in her time of need.

As she stated on her Instagram, the surgery ‘went well’ and she thanked the team for placing her in ‘good hands’. She also stated that she will ‘come back soon’. The forward will most likely make her return in late July, two weeks after the Rossonere will begin training for the upcoming season.

The Abruzzo native is also close to signing a renewal with Milan. More details about her renewal will be known once Serie A Femminile’s transfer market opens on July 1st.

The forward will be one of a handful of current players who will sign renewals with the team. As was stated before, Milan is undergoing yet another upheaval this summer. The team will be releasing at least 11 players from the squad after their contracts end on June 30th. This will be done to make way for other players that will improve the team and help them be more competitive next season.

Salvatori Rinaldi is one of the few players who managed to make the cut. It is expected that she, along with fan favorites Francesca Vitale, Refiloe Jane, and Dominika Čonč, will sign renewals with the team.

Other fan favorites will, however, be leaving. The most notable of them is Nora Heroum, who is expected to depart from Italy to England within the upcoming days.

Stine Hovland is also said to be close to leaving the squad as well. If the rumors are true, then PSG will be her most likely destination.

While their departures will no doubt, cause a lot of pain, we can at least take comfort in knowing that Milan has a concrete plan in place to improve the team.

The plan is to improve the squad by building around a core group of players, and Salvatori Rinaldi will be one of them.

We’ll deal with the news (and pain) of the transfer market when it opens. For now, let’s just celebrate the fact that her surgery went well and that more importantly, that she’ll be with us for at least one more year.

We’ll have Deborah’s sunshine in our lives for a little while longer and for that, we should be grateful.
