Olmo: ‘Why I chose RB Leipzig’

Dani Olmo explains why he turned down Milan and Lazio to join RB Leipzig in January. β€˜I thought it was the best decision for my career.’

The 22-year-old made the transfer for €19m from Dinamo Zagreb and signed a contract to June 2024.

β€œIt’s true that a few Italian clubs were interested, but I cannot add much more than that,” Olmo told Spanish newspaper AS.

β€œAt the end of the day, I decided to go to Leipzig because I thought it was the best decision for my career. I was convinced by the phone calls with director of sport Mark Krosche and coach Julian Nagelsmann, they have an important project and work well with young players.

β€œI think this is the youngest squad in the Bundesliga, on average, and that is an element that pushed me towards them.”
